The year has brought new, strong internal collaborations to strengthen the foundation across the partnership.
Externally, the first year has also focused on dialogue and visibility within the medtech ecosystem, engaging with companies and foundations to strengthen external relations.
These are important steps towards addressing the challenges in the healthcare system and contributing to the shared innovation agenda.
The partnership has moved from vision to action through a number of initiatives:
- Funding for the pioneering DANARC project, which received a substantial grant for AI-based detection of heart disease
- Allocation of funding to 10 IDEA projects, supporting early-stage ideas and the building of interdisciplinary collaboration, and 10 CONCEPT projects, supporting mature solutions ready for testing and demonstration
- A grant programme for funding recipients
- A series of in-house workshops, including an early focus on regulation as a lever for innovation
- We entered 2025 with a clear ambition to turn vision into action. As the annual report demonstrates, the first year has shown both a strong willingness and significant potential within our shared medtech ecosystem, say the management of MedTech Odense, Søren E. Frandsen and Thomas K. Kristensen.
- When we join forces across research, clinical practice and industry, while also investing time, financial support and competencies at an early stage, we strengthen the conditions for turning good ideas into solutions that make a real difference in the healthcare system — while also laying the foundation for sustainable growth.
